Beyond the Paint: A Genestealer Magus and a Wizard’s Workshop

The hobby desk has been a whirlwind of activity lately. I picked up a painted Genestealer Magus—a centerpiece model that I’m weaving into my current cult army—and I finally cleared a backlog of fantasy minis with some high-level help.

The Magus

I This Magus isn't just a leader for a cult. Painting her wasn't just about edge highlighting; it was about capturing that sense of quiet, biological dread that the Living Oil brings to the table. Every brushstroke was an attempt to make her look like she’s leaking corruption into the surrounding environment.

The Wildspire Wizards: A Collaborative Effort

On the fantasy side of things, I finally cracked open the Wildspire Wizards set. They’ve been sitting in the "to-do" pile for too long, but today they finally got the treatment they deserved.

Huge shoutout to Katie for stepping in with the airbrush. She handled the priming and base coats, which made an enormous difference in getting these guys table-ready. There’s something incredibly satisfying about moving a project from "unpainted plastic" to "ready for session" in a single afternoon. Sometimes, the best part of a solo hobby is making it a team effort.

What’s Next?

The Wizards are primed, and the Magus is ready to command the shadows. Now, the real work begins: integrating these assets into the next session.
