Armageddon!!!

 So 11th edition is here.  I'm glad to say I'm staying caught up with marines from combat patrol and now with the Armageddon box.  Motivates me to finish up Leviathan and Indomitus, I guess.








Anyway, lots of new models assembled.  I'm still not doing well...but learn by doing!!

 So I do like AI, its helping me get my new marines going.  I'm kind of at a different place now than when I did the Cerberus Legion, so I guess the Lavender Legion is more my speed.

The Hobby Desk: Clearing the Combat Patrol Backlog

 I spent this past weekend chipping away at the assembly pile. Specifically, I finally sat down to tackle issues 3 through 6 of the Warhammer: Combat Patrol magazine.

There is something strangely therapeutic about the assembly process—the quiet focus required to trim mold lines and get that perfect fit before the primer ever touches the plastic. It’s a great way to disconnect and just focus on the tactile side of the hobby for a few hours. Ok, so my models rarely get assembled correctly and almost never get paint.

Working through these specific issues has been a good reminder of how much goes into these forces before you even get to the painting stage. I’m currently batch-processing the units so I can stay consistent with my color schemes—balancing the progress on the previous Cerberus Legion with the upcoming work on the Lavender Legion.

The Weekend Session:

• Progress: Successfully completed assembly for issues 3–6.

• Tools: I’ve been leaning heavily on my mold line remover and vacuum to keep things clean.

• Next Step: Prime, prime, and prime. The weather is not holding up, so I’m aiming to get these undercoated this week.

It’s easy to feel like the pile of plastic is always growing, but knocking out four issues in a weekend feels like a legitimate victory.
